FULTON COUNTY ANIMAL SERVICES
PROJECT LOCATION
Atlanta, GA
PROJECT DATE
2021-Present
The new facility aims to expand capacity and capabilities to better house and treat more pets in the Fulton County area, ultimately focusing on keeping people and their pets together.
Lowe Engineers was contracted to perform professional civil engineering services for what would become the state’s largest Animal Service Facility in history. This project involved over 13 design consultants and contractors to permit and construct a 55,789 SF no-kill animal service facility with a project site of approximately 10 acres. Lowe was responsible for coordinating with 13 other consultants to take the original concept and produce a full set of civil plans, and hydrology studies, and obtaining the permits necessary to begin construction. The project required collaboration with governing agencies such as the FAA, GDOT, the City of Atlanta, and Fulton County to ensure compliance with all standards.
