Job Summary:
Lowe Engineers is seeking an experienced and dependable Survey Crew Chief to lead field survey crews in the collection of accurate and reliable data for a variety of land development and infrastructure projects. This role is responsible for overseeing daily field operations, ensuring data quality, and maintaining safety standards. The ideal candidate has strong technical knowledge of surveying practices, leadership experience, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Lead and manage survey field crews on a variety of projects, including boundary, topographic, and construction staking
• Operate and oversee the use of survey equipment, including GPS, total stations, and data collectors
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of field data collection
• Interpret plans, plats, and construction documents for field layout
• Coordinate daily activities with project managers and office staff
• Maintain field notes, logs, and documentation in accordance with company standards
• Perform routine equipment checks and ensure proper maintenance
• Work in Atlanta and Travel to projects around the United States
• Precise field note keeping and documentation skills,
• Ability to walk long distances, work long hours, nights, weekends, and out of town work possible

Minimum Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or coursework in surveying preferred
• 3–5+ years of experience in land surveying, with leadership experience preferred
• Proficiency with survey equipment (GPS, robotic total stations, data collectors)
• Strong understanding of surveying principles, field procedures, and data collection methods
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and legal descriptions
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and terrain conditions
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

Physical Demands:
Work is performed both outdoors and in an office environment. Outdoor work may be conducted at landfills, construction sites, and in traffic. To perform the essential functions of the job, incumbents may be required to perform moderately strenuous tasks, such as including lifting and carrying instruments weighing up to 75 pounds over rough terrain. Incumbents may also be required to clear vegetation, dig holes, and pound stakes with hand tools

Environmental Factors:
Works indoors and out-of-doors year-round. Works around traffic and automobile fumes. Incumbents may be subjected to dusts, fumes, extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting, and intense noises
