HARTFIELD Jackson International Airport
PROJECT LOCATION
Atlanta, GA
PROJECT DATE
1999-2002
When the airport began construction of a new air traffic control tower and supporting buildings to serve the growing size of the airport, Lowe assisted in designing the site layout, grading, drainage, utilities, and security features surrounding the new buildings.
Lowe has been involved in a wide variety of projects at the airport working with Aviation Consulting Engineers and the City of Atlanta. These projects have involved transitioning the airport into managing its spatial data. The final deliverables have been submitted in the industry standard GIS format (ESRI shape file). Lowe also provided GIS training and continual support to airport personnel. Lowe completed the following tasks on this complex infrastructure and database project: GPS control surveys, stereo compilation, new color and black and white aerial photography with imagery analysis, MicroStation mapping/GIS, obstruction mapping, and utilities geographic information system.
