Project Engineer – Traffic /Transportation
The responsibilities of this position include the design and preparation of construction documents for minor and major roadway, sidewalk, shoulder improvements, and drainage design projects. Duties include assisting a project manager with tasks associated with plan preparation, cost estimates, report writing, client coordination and permitting. The position requires strong communication skills due the amount of collaboration involved with the team as well as the occasional need for communication with outside agencies, client interaction, etc. The position will be a full-time salary position. Candidates must be willing to work reasonable overtime to meet project demands, when necessary. A BS in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology is required. EIT registration is required as a minimum. Experience must include 5-7 years of transportation design/traffic related experience. Construction experience is optional, but considered a plus if achieved in addition to direct design experience. Software design experience should include working with Microstation V8i and Inroads. Autocad and other additional cad platforms will be beneficial, but not required. Related experience should consist of working directly with GDOT and the Plan Development Process, GDOT collaborative projects with local counties or municipalities, and other local projects utilizing GDOT standards and specifications.
Stormwater / Municipal Engineer (Mid to Senior Level)
Lowe Engineers is seeking a full-time Stormwater Engineer (4-20 years’ experience desired) to perform professional and technical civil engineering work in the design, permitting, construction and maintenance of public works facilities.
Supervises and inspects minor construction and maintenance work on roadways, storm drains, sidewalks, or other public works projects
Prepares designs for simple public works projects
Prepare exhibits and descriptions for easement and right-of-way agreements
Inspects construction materials to see that they conform to specifications
Respond to citizen’s questions and complaints concerning stormwater and erosion requests
Uses computer applications or other automated systems such as computer assisted design programs (CAD), Geographical Information Systems (GIS), spreadsheets, word processing, calendar, e-mail and database software in performing work assignments

Transportation Projects Manager – Preconstruction
Lowe Engineers is currently seeking a Professional Engineer licensed in Georgia to coordinate all aspects of the preconstruction process on the City’s Capital Improvement Program, including, but not limited to:
Project Management Responsibilities Include: scope definition, consultant selection, contract negotiation, concept development, plan review, right of way acquisition, and utility coordination
Define and maintain project schedules based on funding sources and project prioritization
Document Preparation: Requests for Proposals, Invitations to Bid, memos to City Council, and grant applications
Provide technical support for other public works initiatives including, but not limited to shaping city policies, transportation planning, and small project layout.

Bridge Structural Engineer
The responsibilities of this position include serving as the Bridge Structural Engineer for the preparation of designs and construction documents for minor and major roadway bridges, retaining walls, culverts, and other transportation-related structures.

A Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology is required. Georgia PE registration, or the ability to obtain with Georgia within 6 months, is required. Experience must include a minimum of 5 years of bridge design related experience.
Bridge Hydraulics experience and Construction and bridge inspection experience is optional but considered a plus if achieved in addition to direct bridge design experience. Roadway design and plan preparation experience is also optional but will be considered a plus.
Software design experience: MicroStation V8i and InRoads, and structural analysis and design software. Experience with HEC-RAS, MicroStation V8i and InRoads, and structural analysis and design software. Experience with HEC-RAS, AutoCAD and other additional CAD platforms will be beneficial, but not required.
Related experience consisting of working directly with GDOT and the Plan Development Process, GDOT collaborative projects with local counties or municipalities, and other local projects utilizing GDOT standards and specifications is not required but will be considered a plus. Experience should consist of working as the Lead or Team Bridge Engineer for the projects described. Field Layout Engineer/Surveyor – Vertical Construction
Key Responsibilities for a Field Engineer:
Sets up and maintains permanent control throughout the entire line and grade portion of the project.
Validates accurate dimensions by reviewing the architectural and structural drawings prior to execution.
Is able to identify any discrepancies in drawings prior to execution.
Engages the project lead on the line and grade portion of the project to ensure proper scheduling and sequencing.
Proficient with the use of advanced instruments and total station to perform an accurate layout.
Is able to complete a layout in an accurate, efficient, and timely manner.
Delivers layout information to the project team to ensure proper execution.
Knowledge of Microsoft programs, including Word, Excel, Outlook

Survey CAD Technician
Lowe Engineers, LLC seeks a CAD technician who is proactive, can work independently, is comfortable communicating with office staff, field personnel and clients as appropriate, and takes pride in delivering an exceptional work product.
Prepare ALTA/ ACSM Land Title Surveys, Boundaries, Topographic, Utility As-built including “Plan & Profile” and other drawings.
• Produce field worksheets for construction projects – architectural, civil & structural layout.
Perform project research.
Working with Carlson AutoCAD or Civil3D is a plus.
Working with Microstation V8i and GDOT InRoads also a plus but not a requirement.
Instrument Man/Rod Man
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Holds level or rod at designated points to assist in determining elevations and laying out stakes for mapmaking, construction, land, and other surveys.
Is familiar with Party Chief and Rod man/Instrument Man’s roles.
Is able to operate all of the instrumentation required for the collection or distribution of survey data (total station, data collector, level).
Transmits survey data to the proper Party Chief in the computer network, and be able to acquire the data for field use.
Calls out reading or writes station number and reading in notebook.
Marks points of measurement with elevation, station number, or other identifying mark.
Measures distance between survey points with steel or cloth tape or surveyor’s chain.
Marks measuring points with keel (marking crayon), paint sticks, scratches, tacks, or stakes.
Places stakes at designated points and drives them into ground at specified elevation.
Cuts and clears brush and trees from line of survey.
Performs other duties as directed by Surveyor Crew Chief.
Performs occasional building & grounds maintenance.
Able to work Saturdays and overtime if needed.
Responsible for job specific quality system tasks as defined in quality manual.
Lowe Engineers is currently seeking to fill the position of Geospatial Analyst. Qualified individuals must have a thorough knowledge of mapping concepts and techniques, as well as experience working with imagery, stereo-compilation, and various geospatial data formats. Must have 1-3 years of direct 3D imagery mapping experience utilizing aerial or satellite image stereo pairs to accurately compile/extract data (either topographic or planimetric) and possess the ability to obtain a national security clearance.
